Mammographic screening breast density

Centre of Cancer Prevention

Project Investigator:  Professor Sue Moss

Overview

A number of research projects have been carried out collaboratively between the London Breast Institute (LBI), Princess Grace Hospital, and the Centre for Cancer Prevention.

The aim of this project is to enhance this work, both by further interpretation and analysis of data already collected and by the development of new research.

Studies include those of breast density as measured by computerised automated volumetric methods, and a cross-sectional survey of epidemiology of breast density.

The research aims to provide further evidence on urban residence and breast density, cumulative exposure to breast density and breast cancer risk, and on density in younger women and the implications for surveillance.
