ENGAGE

Centre for Cancer Prevention

Project Investigator:  Dr Sam Smith

Funding body:  Cancer Research UK

Overview

The ENGAGE study is a Cancer Research UK funded fellowship awarded to Dr Sam Smith.

It aims to investigate decision-making in the context of breast cancer chemoprevention. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, a series of studies will be undertaken involving women who are at increased risk of breast cancer, and the clinicians who care for them.

The intended outcomes of the project are to monitor uptake levels of breast cancer chemoprevention in a UK NHS setting, and identify ways in which decision-making can be optimised among this group.
