Profile

I am a Lecturer in Medical Statistics with a particular interest in medical screening. I studied mathematics and statistics at Imperial College, London (1999-2002) and medical statistics at the University of Leicester (2002-2003) With colleagues I am involved in research on antenatal screening for Down’s syndrome, trisomy 18, trisomy 13 and pre-eclampsia. I am also involved in research on screening children and their parents for familial hypercholesterolemia.
Recently, with colleagues within Queen Mary and colleagues at UCL, including Dr. Alastair Noyce, I have been participating in research on Parkinson’s disease which includes the Predict-PD project. This project aims to identify people at higher risk of Parkinson’s disease based on a systematic review of known risk factors and early non-motor features of Parkinson’s disease. I also contribute to the teaching of Public Health to medical students.
