Profile

Anne-Marie Brady

Ann Marie is a PhD student working on a project funded by the NIHR CLAHRC North Thames examining the psychological adjustment of children and adolescents living with long-term health conditions under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Stansfeld, and Dr. Jessica Deighton of the Anna Freud Centre.

The project will utilise longitudinal data in order to understand the mechanisms behind psychological adjustment in young people living with long-term conditions, and aims to use this knowledge to identify effective interventions for targeting mental health issues among this population. Ann Marie will also be working closely with a research team within the Anna Freud Centre who are currently in the process of developing the ‘What’s-Up’ web portal, a mental health support website for young people with emotional and conduct problems in schools and youth centres.

Ann Marie previously completing her Master’s Degree in Psychological Science at University College Dublin in 2012, and has worked with the Irish Department of Education and Skills as a behaviour support, as well as within the Irish Health Service in the role of research psychologist. She has been involved with a number of applied research projects evaluating novel and innovative approaches to mental health issues in childhood and adolescence.
