Profile

I joined the Policy Research Unit in Cancer awareness, screening & early diagnosis as a statistician in 2011.

My work is focused on assessing the benefit of breast cancer screening. I am currently involved in an ongoing case-control study to evaluate the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP). This study aims to assess the benefit of the screening programme in terms of the effect on breast cancer mortality and its detrimental effect in terms of overdiagnosis.

My other projects include the annual compilation of various performance related statistics for the NHSBSP and most recently, a study to assess the effect of the introduction of two-view mammography on interval cancer rates in the NHSBSP.

Prior to my joining Queen Mary, I completed an MSc in Medical Statistics, during which I undertook a project to assess the Social Determinants of Infant Mortality in a Historical Swedish Cohort.
